About the event

This two-day training will provide an introduction to the evidence practice method Motivational Conversation as adapted from evidence based Motivational Interviewing and place emphasis on the reduced power differential essential in peer service

delivery. After orientation to the underlying spirit and principles of MC, practical exercises help participants to strengthen empathy skills, and gain an understanding of MI Technique OAR.

Goals & Objectives:

• Gain a strong foundation of the spirit of MC

• Understand basic components of MI

• Understand OARS

• Experience appropriate peer coach role practice

Day 1 –9:00am – 4:30pm, 2 15-minute breaks, 1-hour lunch.

Day 2 –9:00am –4:30pm, 2 15-minute breaks, 1-hour lunch.

Choices Peer Recovery Trainings is a NAADAC Approved Provider, is dedicated to providing intentional relatable trainings to strengthen peer delivery services and uphold the integrity of the profession.
